Asylum Club is on the
SECOND SUNDAY of the month
Hard Rock and Heavy Metal is known for long hair but generally it's the hair on the heads and not the face. So when a charity offers the excuse of getting even hairier we couldn't resist it.
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. With their “Mo’s” men raise vital funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health.
On average, men die at a significantly younger age than women and the reasons for the poor state of men’s health are numerous and complex. However factors include lack of awareness and understanding of the men's health issues and men not openly discussing their health and how they’re feeling.
So in November Asylum will be celebrating Movember with fake moustaches and music by famous moustachioed men such as Jimi Hendrix, Axl Rose, Freddie Mercury and Lemmy. There will also be a moustache quiz and information on various men's health issues.
In a fit of organisation we decided to plan all the themes for our club nights in 2013. We'll try to keep to the plan but it may be subject to alteration...
